I Who does not love Santa Claus?
II I remember how my parents used to control my behavior by saying, " Santa is seeing you, he knows if you are good girl or not, and he knows if you are obeying us." As a kid, I always tried to be that perfect girl, so Santa does not get upset and bring me presents.
III when I first found out that Santa is not real, it was very hard for me to accept and understand that Santa Claus is only a childhood mythical character.
IX I chose this topic because I really love Santa and today I 'm going to inform you about The history of St. Nicholas, How St. Nicholas became Santa Clause, and how people celebrate Christmas in the modern time.

People used to consider December 6, the anniversary of St Nicholas death, a lucky day to get married. G. St. Nickolas did not loose from his popularity even after the protestant reformation when people started to not venerate Saints. 1.St. Nicholas preserved good and positive reputation especially in Holland.

II. The second point is how Saint Nicholas became Santa Claus A. Many German and Holland immigrants introduced the legend of St. Nicholas as SinterKlaas. 1.this story was very similar to the British character the father Christmas so they got merged. 2.Over the course of many years finally SinterKlaas got Americanized as a Santa Claus. B. After many years, Santa Claus physical appearance was established, and it was mainly affected by Clement Moore poem " a visit from St. Nicholas," and now is known as the night before Christmas. C. In 19th century Santa used to wear many different colors such as blue, purple and green. However, in the beginning of the 20th century the norm image of Santa became a white beard fat man who wears red. D.
