The argument is if steroids should be legal or not. Many people don't see any problem with it, others believe that it is cheating. Making it very unsportsmanlike.
Competition can be unfair if there is unequal access to particular enhancements, but equal access can be achieved more predictably by deregulation than by prohibition. If steroids were unfair, we would ban coaching and training.
Athletes don't take steroids to level the playing field, they do it to get an advantage. If it were legal, athletes would start taking more and more steroids eventually making all leagues giant mutant freaks of nature.

Yet people just don't know a lot about steroids.
What we do know about steroids is that they can harm you. It's a drug that not many people know a lot about. Steroids have a negative long term effect on the body. Only to reach there short term goals. Only to possibly have long term effects. Those who are for steroids say that if you can't forbid smokers from smoking because it's bad for them then you shouldn't be able to tell athletes they can't use steroids because it's bad for them.
Do people who take steroids make clean athletes feel pressured to take steroids to keep up or be better? This is a common question. People who are against say, athletes are willing to win at any cost. Causing athletes to use just to keep up with others who are using. Yet those steroids say it's no different then people lifting weights more often to keep up with those who are stronger.
