Major League Baseball (MLB) once had an experience with players using steroids in the league. These players and much more started getting more hits and home runs; more specifically Barry Bonds hit the most home runs in a season while he was using steroids. When the organizations found out that they used performance-enhancing drugs, players were suspended and fined money to the league commissioner. This is where people began to state that using steroids is ruining the MLB. Although, the opposition will declare that if players are allowed to use steroids because it leads to problems within the league. These diseases include affecting the good and bad cholesterols that are in the body; or even worse, steroids have the ability to affect the heart. In fact, “Steroids may also increase the player's levels of bad LDL cholesterol and decrease good HDL cholesterol, putting the player at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular diseases”(Sherwood). Some opponents pose that steroid use will help injured athletes recover quicker and make them better even when they return to the game. According to “Go Premium”, “Star players could use steroids to recover from injuries and play even better at the same time”(Keolanui). Although the opposition has a acceptable point on this, there still is the chance that a disease will be encountered with the use of steroids. Also, if steroids are used for a quicker injury recovery there is no guarantee that it will work every time.
