Athletes abusing steroids

Many athletes think that it's okay to use steroids and abuse the rules of the professional sport they play. Athletes don't care about the sport as much as the fame or the money. They are usually in it for the money. The athletes have a lot to worry about when using steroids because they may lose money and fame. There are many things that are going to stop athletes from using steroids. When athletes use steroids it not only puts the athlete at risk, it also puts the fans at risk. Athletes should not only be banned from professional sports they should have to pay double the fine and go to court over the use of steroids.

Some steroids can kill you right as soon as you inject them into your body. There are a lot of athletes that don't inject steroids and they keep on with their career. But in some cases, steroids are given in a prescription but not all the time. Steroids are used to strengthen your body muscles. “Proponents of accepting performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) in sports argue that their harmful health effects have been overstated, that health risks are an athlete’s decision to make, that using drugs is part of the evolution of sports much like improved training techniques and new technologies, and that efforts to keep athletes from using PEDs are overzealous, unproductive, unfairly administered, and bound to fail.” (ProCon) Although the athletes abuse the steroids, some athletes are prescribed to use the steroids. There are 600 players that get tested three times a year and 60 players in the offspring. They only run a urine test to figure out if the athletes are using steroids. When they get caught the first time for using steroids, they get an automatic 50 game suspension without a fine. The second time they get caught it's a 100 game suspension and no fine. The third time is a lifetime ban from playing professional sports. Every sport that test for steroids and the other drugs those players may be using they use urine samples to test the players.
