Rising Homelessness in Minnesota

“The number of people without homes hasn't dropped. It has risen,” stated by Steve Brandt of Startribune. The amount of homeless people around the state of Minnesota is rising every year. The Minnesota legislature should make more “housing first” homes. This way there are fewer people left without homes. There are many reasons that homelessness is an issue. One reason is that the prices of homes are rising so it makes it harder to find a decent home at an affordable price. The second reason is that more people are becoming homeless every year. My last reason is that there are over 3,000 people homeless in the Hennepin County alone. These are just some of the reasons that homelessness is an issue.

The first reason that the state legislature should consider making more “housing first” homes is, so that there are fewer people without homes. This is happening because more people are becoming homeless every year. In other words, people may start to think that homelessness may have something to do with expensive rents and the Great Recession. Such a statement proves that there is this definitely a problem.
