One of the benefits of Self-Authorship is to allow students to discover who they are, and allow them to make life decisions without outside influences. This advising theory assists with allowing students to identify who they are, what they want to be, and where they would like to go. These psychosocial developmental challenges also include undergoing personal struggles with oneself.
