Where you born between 1978 and 1999? Did you know that you are a part of the Millennial Generation? Well Kathryn Tyler wrote an article “The tethered generations” informing all of us about millennials, and how we the millennials are supposed to relate to one another. I would not recommend this article for the following reasons, First Tyler’s paper was written roughly about seven years ago, our technology has changed quite a bit and she talks about outdated information that does not pertain to us Millennials, and lastly she talks about how everyone has a Helicopter parent. She talks about helicopter parents instead of talking about how to resolve the situation. For this paper I would simply like to start off and give a sort summary of the article to simply tell you why I do not suggest this article. It also states within the millennial generation that everyone in this group does all the same things and makes them sound all just alike. In the millennial generation it states that everyone has pager. What even are pagers to begin with? The author also talk about how college students call their parents almost up to 5 times a week. This is a false statement, I am part of the millennial generation and I do not call home five times a week. This article puts everyone into one group and basically calls it done. Then this article goes over time and starts to talk about how teens are just now getting cell phones in their early teens which isn’t always true. Some kids may have strict parents and they may not get a cell phone until they have a job and pay for it on their own, we may never know.
