The next step according to Source F was "Expropriation: Because Jews had already been identified in the first stage it was easy to enforce the new laws against them." This suggests that since the Jews were already being singled out and separated from the society making laws specifically about them would be easy since Jews are already considered as different. These laws included "Jews may not take part in public sports, Jews are forbidden to visit theaters, cinemas and other places of entertainment etc." according to the Diary of Anne Frank. Additionally, in Source C it states another step was "Dehumanization."
In retaliation to Jews for killing a German policeman in self defense on July 31, 1940 the nazis carried out a public mass execution(“Holocaust”). This day was later named “Bloody Wednesday”. They were tortured by anxiety, were insecure of the present, torn between hope and despair, and felt helpless. There were many people who were persecuted during the Holocaust that weren’t Jewish: spouses of Jews, Roma Gypsies, resisters, priests and pastor, Jehovah Witnesses, political enemies, homosexuals, the disabled, and African-German descent. Spouses of Jews had to choose between getting a divorce or being sent to concentration camps along with their Jewish Spouse.
The Nazis used Ghettos during the Holocaust to separate, persecute, and destroy European Jews. They combined into the Nazi’s long standing racial policy. The goal of ghettos established as temporary; however, they lasted for days, weeks, or years. Three types of ghettos made up the Holocaust: closed, open, and destruction.
The Holocaust was an event that everyone knows was a terrible event in world history. To better understand the holocaust we need to know what led to Kristallnacht, what Kristallnacht was, and what happened during Kristallnacht. Herschel Grynspan was a young, Polish-Jew (Gilbert)(“Kristallnacht” Holocaust Encyclopedia). His family was expelled from their home and out of the country. His sister sent him a letter telling of the horrors she experienced.
This brainwashed them because the government usually only sets laws to protect the people and for the betterment of society, so the Aryans thought it would be okay to do what they did because the government said so. This event also oppressed the Jews because when their businesses and ways of earning money are destroyed, they cannot provide for their family and are automatically put lower than the people who have money. In Maus, by Art Spieglman, government workers come to warn Mr. Zylberberg and his wife that if they do not send their grandparents, they will be taken to the concentration camps, and later they did. Art Spieglman “And a month after, they again came to father-in-law. Mr. Zylberberg, you and your wife must come with us.
Dehumanization of the Jews During the Holocaust, dehumanization of the Jews took place. The Natzis would do several things to try and make the Jews feel like animals and nothing more. They wanted to show that the Jews were a race that should have not existed. They would go to any means to complete their objective of an Aryan race.
Intolerance Essay How would you feel if you were treated unfairly because of the color of your skin, or your religion? People all over the world face this unfair intolerance. The definition of intolerance is unable or unwilling to endure. This means that not all people can handle the fact that others are different, so it causes them to show hostility to a certain group or race of people.
Dehumanization during the Holocaust According to a 2022 article published by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, “Nazi racism resulted in the persecution and mass murder of six million Jews and millions of other people.” Before World War II, Adolf Hitler rose to power in Germany where he sparked Nazism and started the Holocaust. The Holocaust was an attempt to rid the world of Jews, since Hitler was convinced they were an inferior and parasitic race. Not only were Jews killed by the Nazis, but they were also dehumanized. This dehumanization was done through things such as separating families, taking away belongings, inflicting poor hygiene and starvation, treatment like animals, and gas chambers.
The Aryan Nation: a Threat to Society Fear. Crime. Hate. As guilty as any, the Aryan Nation was a self-described “White Christian supremacist group,” recognized across America as a terrorist act. Aryan Nations, (AN), took on Neo-Nazism to attempt to spread globally, and establish America as a homeland, or main base if you will.
Strong people work hard for their families to keep them alive as they run into many difficult conflicts. The Holocaust was a dark and scary period of time. Many people risked their lives for their family, friends, and country. Mostly everyone worked hard together to fight the terrible conflicts and struggles of the war. Like the Holocaust, the Western Expansion had many different problems.
Everyone should be treated equally right? Well it has not always been like that. The Holocaust is an example of inequality, the Nazis killed the Jews because they were not as ethnicaly “supperior”. All races and ethnicities should be treated equally and shown the same respect as anyone else. No matter if their different or exactly the same.
Chapter One When I finally wake the first thought that comes to mind is “What on Earth is that god awful smell?” Did someone forget to take the trash out? For a week? That’s when I blink my eyes and find myself on what looks like a dirty nasty cattle car. I am completely surrounded by people.
The Holocaust The Holocaust was about a systematic killing and they murdered over six million jews by the nazi regime. Holocaust is a word of greek and it means “Sacrifice by fire”. The Aryans (also known as the Nazis) did not like god’s plan/idea of making all races equal so that there can be peace and love in the world. “ We had already lived through a lot that night. We thought that nothing could frighten us anymore, but his harsh words sent shivers down through us. The word “Chimney” “ (Wiesel 39), when Elie is saying “ We lived through a lot ” (Wiesel 39) he is saying that they have all reached their breaking point, this helped the Nazis side because that just made them weak and hopeless that means that they would obey all of their commands, and that would make things more easier to whip out the Jewish race. Hitler's crazy plan for a ‘Master Race’ was a very good try
As the laws against Jews in Germany got progressively worse, some Jewish people thought to stick up for their rights, but it was futile. Jewish people began fleeing the country, but few countries would take them due to the fear of a newly empowered German state. On the evening of November 9, 1938, the Holocaust began with carefully coordinated attacks on Jewish businesses. Unfortunately, this was just a sample of the horrors that would be shown in the next twelve years. Hindsight is already 20/20 and from the events leading up to the Holocaust most historians concur that the Holocaust should have been predicted and stopped.
