Parents are the biggest influence on a child in the early stages of their lives, the way a parent raises their child will effect that child for the rest of their lives, children take after their parents in beliefs, behavior and morals and the way the parent raises their children reflects the parents beliefs and views it is the same beliefs they bestow upon their children.

Parenting styles are different in every household the way a parent raises their child will determine their demeaner and outlook on life, parents have a psychological effect on the child. A good home life has a very positive effect on a kid because they have emotional support from their family and the things they need to be successful but a kid with a bad home life will sometimes struggle because they do not have that emotional support they need. All of his feelings and him being emotionally unstable stem from his home life not being good his father is no where to be found and his mother seems to not care about him at all. In chapter two of the brief wondrous life of Oscar Wao it’s says “As a kid me and Oscar were more scared of our mother than we were of the dark or el cuco she would hit us anywhere in front of anyone”. Oscars mom hitting him and his sister like that obviously did not make them feel good about themselves this shows that lack of emotional support that should come from a parent. Home life is a huge factor even when you're an adult Oscars mom Beli isnt a good mom becasue she was raised the same way shes raising Oscar. She grew up in foster homes and lived with her aunt she never had the emotional support she needed from her parent thats why she raises oscar the way she does because thats how she was raised and she doesn’t know any other way parenting because that’s the way
