Although students are aloud to have their phones in class they have to be turned off or put away. School districts should keep doing this because phones are a distraction during class and students shouldn’t be on them, students should be paying attention to their assignment / lesson / project and not be on social media or the internet, and students could be looking up answers for the assignment on the internet instead if they have their phone on them.

Even if they say they’re not on their phone, they most likely are. Many students are later confused on the assignment they were given because they didn't pay attention to the lesson explaining everything.
