ASOS has a competitive advantage over other retail shops as the customers only have to go online to shop whereas many retail shops don’t have an online shop and those that do may not always show all of the products for sale. As ASOS is an online company, the consumers will find all items by ASOS online. In addition to this, ASOS offers differentiation meaning that the organisation offers something different that competitors may not. For example, ASOS offers a vegan range which will help to cater for all people whereas some other retail shops may not. This will expand the client base of ASOS and also increase the profits for each year which may mean that if ASOS offers different things to their competitors, then ASOS may make a larger overhead …show more content…

The customers will help to move the business forward as the more they buy, the larger the overhead will be for that year. If the customers like what they are buying then they are likely to come back for more. In addition to this, if many customers that believe that the items sold on ASOS are of a good quality and reasonable price, then they are likely to recommend the website to friends and family members which will increase the client base of ASOS. The government influences ASOS to keep to the rules and regulations set out for retail companies. The government is in control of managing the economy and enforcing policies so as any business will contribute towards the economic environment, the government must make sure that each business is following the policies set out before them. Trade Unions are organisations that represent people at work. If the trade union of ASOS still has an interest in what the company is producing then they will continue to represent that business. So ASOS must always make sure that their trade union agrees with their policies, if not, ASOS may lose their unions. On the ASOS website, the first image shown is that of stylish, young individuals of all sizes and genders. In addition to this, there are all ethnicities showing that the products sold on the website are tailored to everybody, not just certain ethnicities or genders. In addition to this, the products shown look affordable so almost anybody would be able to find something that they like from ASOS. The company is an online business which has no real shops, meaning that for those that do not necessarily have the time to go shopping, they can just look on ASOS and fine what they want as ASOS also has many different high-street brands so everything is on one site meaning that the customer would be able to just search one website for what they want rather than many different websites. ASOS also advertises their products on Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook so the customers can always keep updated on deals and new products. The culture of the company shows team work within the work force and also money off products for those that work for the company, this would be appealing for those looking to work for
