Corrie Ten Boom, the main character of this story lives in the Netherlands, and at this time the Nazi’s are killing Jews. Corrie and her family decide to hide the Jews in her house, so they won’t get killed or sent to concentration camp. The main conflict in this book was when the Ten Booms were sent to prison for hiding the Jews in their home.

Minor Conflict #1: Betsie started having poor health and was becoming weak. Corrie struggled with Betsie’s death

The climax of the Hiding Place is when Betsie Ten Boom dies. This is the climax because it makes the main character lonely, because that was her sister.

The theme of this story is family is there for you no matter the circumstances. I believe this because while Corrie and Betsie were in prison, Betsie got sick and Corrie was taking care of her. They would also pray and read the Bible together.

17. Which character did you find particularly interesting? Explain why. Answer this question in complete sentences. The character in the novel that I found was most interesting was Willem Ten Boom. I think this because he was the only Ten Boom to graduate from college.

The character that I liked the most was the protagonist, Corrie Ten Boom. I liked her the most because she risked her life to save the Jews in her house, even though it was extremely dangerous. She was also super kind, believed in God during tough times, and stayed strong.
