“I don't want my family to see me suffering, I don't want that to be their last memory of me.” For many individuals the term suicide is referred as something horrible that only “desperate” people do. But what if this person is really in pain? What if this person has absolutely no chance or possibility of surviving without taking any prescribed medications? Assisted suicide should be available to terminally ill patients because it will end their suffering and it will prevent the waste of money in vain.

It involves the consent of the doctor along with strict procedures to be eligible to qualify. Requirements include being 18 years or older and possessing an illness that will lead to death within six months. At least 6 nations in the United States have adopted assisted suicide legally including California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington. Hawaii is on the process to make assisted suicide legal beginning on January 1, 2019. With this, the usage of euthanasia will become more common and available throughout the years.
Euthanasia is the act of putting someone to death painlessly and allowing a person who suffers from an irremediable and painful condition to die by restraining medical measures. Individuals who support and favor physician assisted suicide reinforce their idea due to compassion and respect for the dying. They believe that patients should be given the right to assisted suicide in order to end their suffering. For example, Steve Doyle, an Irish citizen of Ohio who reached up to assisted suicide in February 2018. After injuring his spine on the job in 2015, doctors confirmed that Steve had stage 4 prostate cancer. Knowing that there was no cure
