February sixth was the day of my last middle school game. We were playing our rivals , Ledford middle school. The first time we played them we only lost by two points. The first five starters for Ledford and our first five including myself were all standing at half court for tip off. The ref. threw the ball up and Gillian tipped it back to me.
Allow me to introduce myself, I am Bryan Le, a freshman that is currently attending a charter school by the name of “Downtown College Prep”. I am currently living with my parents and two younger siblings, one brother and one sister. Over my years in a public elementary school, I had seen others being happy because of one’s help and that made me feel happy inside. I then thought of ways to help others when I stumbled upon the fact that doctors help people everyday, which seemed as a great way to help many people so that they may continue to be happy in life. As I entered Downtown College Prep, I was urged by the staff to explore my options and to set a goal in life.
My future plans include going off to Utica College for nursing. I have known my major since I was five years old and my education that has been provided has only encouraged my decision. Even though I am going off into the medical field, my time spent playing sports, being in the drama club, national honors society, and participating in community has actually influenced my decision to do so. As I am quickly approaching the end of my senior, I am looking back at how far I have come since freshman year and everything that Henley High School has helped me accomplish in my life. In preparation for the life that every senior must experience after school, the senior capstone project was put in place to help seniors find out what they would suit them as career and give them some of the necessary tools in achieving that. Part of the capstone was earning service hours at a non profit organization, that can go on a resume. With serving came a facilitator, who guides one’s service, and also the challenges and success of the service itself. To Provide help on future careers, Henley High School also provided an opportunity to take the CIS test
In the past, I was the treasurer for my high school’s DECA club and I was also in charge of running my high school’s store. Last winter I became part of Merrimack’s Orientation staff, which I believe shows student leadership because I was responsible for helping the incoming freshmen acclimate to college and become responsible individuals. Being an Orientation staff member required a lot of professionalism because we were in charge of making sure we were always on time for events and respectful to the presenters and each other. Last spring, I was hired at Shaw’s Supermarket and I have recently been promoted to work in the Customer Service Desk. I believe my position shows leadership outside of campus because I am responsible for making sure
I started off by believing I will be an educator and that is it. I was wrong. I need to work hard to make my students’ futures better in an academic aspect and in a functional aspect. I want to create a class in high school where it educates students on basic job skills. I want to create a class in high school that helps students get ready for college and help them apply for different post-secondary education.
When I was young, money was not a big deal when I asked for something. If I wanted it, I begged my mom to get it for me. I never understood why I was unable to get the new toy that just came out, or the new shoes that every girl was about to have on Monday morning when I walked through the doors of Gretna Middle School. The summer before I started middle school, I decided to join a volleyball team. Needless to say, I fell in love with the game and continually tried to better my performance.
Throughout my life, I have had to overcome many obstacles because of my struggles with anxiety and depression. I really wish there were more resources in place to help students. I specifically want to work with elementary students because often times their struggles are minimized because of their young age. Because of my experiences with mental illness, I will be able to help support students, parents, and teachers navigate often unfamilar and scary waters. It can be really difficult to advocate for yourself when one is struggling with mental illness or neurodivergencies, and I can use the skills I have gained and will learn in college to help advocate and do the best by the students I will assist.
Before attending Northwest Catholic, I completed my freshman year at Renbrook School. This school not only prepared me for what was to come for my future high school years but helped shaped me into the better person I am today. As a thank you for all Renbrook had done for me, I wanted to finally become immersed in school-related activities. Prior to ninth grade year, I stayed away from any school activity, since I believed it was a waste of time, and I could just relax at home. This kind of thinking stopped me from actually becoming a part of the actual Renbrook community.
Hello Mrs Franks, I am writing today concerning my report. I 'm not sure if on your Teachers Drive you have all the reports but if so please review my report due to in Boys Business (Mr Wolarczuk) has marked me as Needs Attention in all 4 criteria of the reporting which I believe is incorrect and i know its incorrect. In boys business and within my groups in the subject I 'm always on time, never missed a class, always came in full uniform and shown up in a happy mood to do the subject.
The realization of who I am, motivated me to be a figure for those who need guidance. Since I will be attending college, I hope to, with my Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, become a therapist to lend a hand out to those who are
It has been a privilege to be able to work alongside employees whom I aspire to be like, working alongside counselors I have had the honor of getting a firsthand experience of what a workday consist of for a counselor. From the moment I was able to experience what a workday consist for a counselor, I felt that I had truly found my element, for one I love to interact with students, secondly, I believe I have the capacity of being a great academic
I will soon hold a Bachelor degree in Communication Disorders and my studies have taught me how to communicate with individuals from all backgrounds, professions, and social classes. It taught me sympathy and understanding of human interaction. My long term goal is to work with school aged children and young adults as a speech-language pathologist. I have experience in interacting favorably and effectively with children of a wide range and enjoy doing so. I belong in an educational environment and would like to continue on to the school system and contribute to the success of school aged children and young adults.
My career goal is to work as a high school counselor, but specifically I want to work with special education students. I would be enthusiastic however to work with any high school students on a professional level. I’ve always knew that my future would involve helping others, and when I was in high school I never had councilor I could talk to openly. My guidance counselor made it clear that she was only there for scheduling and nothing more. She told me when it came time to apply for college that I was wasting my time
To enhance my experience I would like to work with veterans, adult homeless, and the mentally ill. My objective is to be admitted into the Master of Science degree program with an option in Rehabilitation Counseling, where I can grow and take on new challenges. Ultimately, I would like to assume further educational and gain work experience that would allow me to work more effectively with people with disabilities. Most importantly, I would like to work for an agency where I can build a career in counseling and possibly management. I am driven to be the best at what I do.
