Do you know who the Goddess of wisdom, war, and crafts is? Well I do! It’s Athena, considered to be one of the strongest Gods in Olympia. Athena is the daughter of Zeus and she is very wise and courageous. She faced many hardships in her life. In this essay, I will entertain you with the story of the Goddess Athena, where and how she was born, her life and the city that was named after her, the Myth with Medusa, her role as a goddess and what she believed in and stood for. Although, Athena’s appearance made her seem tough, she was a very non-aggressive person who was a great battle strategist and would rather settle a fight with wisdom instead of violence (but has on occasion) and never lost a battle. Athena was a helper and would go out of her way to help anyone who felt attacked, she would fight their battles with determination. She stood up for justice, truth, and held high standards for moral values. Athena had the ability to change her appearance into a woman, man, child, or whatever she had to do to defeat or outsmart her opponent. One of the most memorable fights for Athena was against Poseidon on who would be the patron of Athens and impress the Greeks and earn their affection. The Greeks asked that they both bring one thing to them that would benefit the people of Greece and prove their worth. Her Uncle, Poseidon (god of the sea) used his Tiden to strike the earth to give them water. However, the water was too salty and the people of Greece didn’t like it. Athena outsmarted her uncle and brought an Olive Tree. The Olive Tree gave them shade, oil, and olives. The people of Greece loved Athena’s gift, accepted it and named the city of Athens after her. The people of Athens built The Parthenon and dedicated it to Athena. The Parthenon was used for many things during it’s time other than to worship. The Athenian’s used the Parthenon for military
