Athens and Sparta were two of the main Greek civilizations. They were very different, which is one of the reasons why they could hate each other. They had different education and government, but they also were similar too. They were both praising a god, for instance. They also had a common enemy. The Spartans were more fearsome warriors, rather than Athens being peaceful. They became famous city-states even with the differences. Life in Athens was very peaceful and busy at the same time. Atheninans had lots of people come in for trading. Athens had a god named Athena, who was the god of intelligence and war. In Athens, there were a variety of jobs to choose from.
