The world of athletes is very interesting. Most people do not understand us athletes. They think we are self- centered and stuck up. Actually most athletes are not. A lot of them care about others wellbeing. They are good at bonding with others, especially their teammates. They form tight bonds with their teammates and even if a new player comes, they treat them like a brother. They make them feel welcome and they give them a group of friends to hang out with and feel safe to talk to. Such as Richard Cordeiro and myself. Richard disagrees strongly with the stereotypes that athletes are given. As an athlete himself, he is very disturbed by the stereotypes. Richard was an All- Star soccer player, he is also a father of six, and I am his oldest child. He has played sports all of his life. Nevertheless, athletes do not always have a hard time with people. Athletes also have a very good world around them. I mean sports are everywhere and people are always talking about sports or playing them. Sports are very important because they keep you healthy and they give you a second family. You have your real family and then your sports family. Being an athlete makes you a part of a brotherhood and they just make you feel important. People count on you.
