It was an ordinary day of war for the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Children were playing innocently, mothers were caring for their children, people were heading off to work, and the sun was shining brightly. But, that was all about to change. On August 6, 1945, the people of Hiroshima got a deadly surprise thrown onto them; an atomic bomb. It was devastating. Thousands of women, men, children, babies, and animals were all killed and the city was absolutely destroyed. And on August 9, Nagasaki received the same thing. There is one man behind all of it. It was the president of the United States at the time, named Harry Truman. All of the innocent lives lost makes people wonder if he should have used the bomb or not. First, he could have used the bomb somewhere that was less populated. Second, Japan was mostly defeated. Third, it was an extremely violent and inhumane way to end an already bad war. They were both very large cities with thousands of people living in them. Using the bomb there just caused more destruction and death. Second, Japan was already losing in the war. Their country was failing; they had no food or supplies. The atomic bomb just added to the tragic situation. Third, it was a violent and inhumane way to end a bad war. There was so much suffering, horror, death, and destruction throughout the course of the war. The droppings of the atomic bombs fed into those things. All in all, I think that the atomic bomb should never have been used, or even invented. It caused fear, terror, and danger. People are tormented with the thought of it being used again. President Harry Truman should never have used the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and
