The two stories, The Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima- The Public Explanation and If the Atomic Bomb Had Not Been Used are both about the bombing of Hiroshima. The difference is that one story discussed the public announcement of the atomic bomb and about the bombing. The other story focused on what would have happened if the bomb was not used and whether it was necessary or not. There is a similarity and difference in both stories and they both give great points of view.
The story, The Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima- The Public Explanation is all about the decision making of dropping the bomb and giving a public explanation as to why. President Truman gave a public announcement on August 6, 1945 discussing the dropping of the atomic bomb. His message was directed towards the American people but also the military leaders in Japan. The story, If the Atomic Bomb Had Not Been Used is similar to the other due to the main topic being discussed it the atomic bomb. Another similarity was that The Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima- The Public Explanation clearly thought that the bombing was the best idea and that is why they did so. Such as what would have happened if the Americans did not bomb. Some thought it was the best choice while others thought it was not necessary. Either way it was done and it ended up being beneficial however; that story was used to show why people thought it was the best and why it could have not been used. Then, in The Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima- The Public Explanation was solely focused on the reason why they did use atomic bomb. It did not give the opinions of others and whether they thought it was good or bad. It told us why they did so and end
