I have determined my career as a scientist since I was a Biotechnology freshman, one that was charmed by the thrill of discovery for the sake of human welfare and high quality of life. That would reason well for my habit to wander around the labs, watching seniors working on their experiments while envisaging my own research project. However, the struggle was real when I tried to find a theme for my study that was practical and meaningful to myself - Not another topic that were already mined by other students and left unattended when finished. Nevertheless, I suddenly found my answer: Atopic dermatitis, a skin condition whose extreme distress I had never known before. I suffered from a nightmarish flare-up which appeared inexplicably, left in the same manner and has not once returned. As I believe my research purpose converges with a number of past publications of your department and can be supported by the facilities, I wish to apply what is taught to delve into important metabolites and biomarkers in dermatological inflammation, specifically to learn how sensitive they are in response to drug intervention and the possibility to perform large-scale metabolomics analysis to unravel the links between relevant disorders. Alongside with focusing on the subject of study, I really look forward to working with experts in the field and aspiring fellows in this program.
