Central idea: My goal is to persuade my audience on why school uniforms are unnecessary. The points to be covered in my speech will include, that uniforms can be costly, they can be uncomfortable, they hold back students from expressing themselves, and some feel that wearing school uniforms can prevent cliques or groups, but this is not necessarily true.
INTRODUCTION
Attention getter: Can you imagine sitting in class, wearing an outfit that you don’t want to be wearing all day? Whether you just don’t like it or it is uncomfortable, it would not be enjoyable.
Credibilty: As someone who has gone to a school which required uniforms and a school that didn’t require them, I will bring in my own experience as well as do some research.
Relevance to audience: My topic will relate to my audience because there are schools around us that require uniforms and some may have kids enrolled in a school that requires them.

In my opinion I think school uniforms are a bad idea. As you can see they can be very expensive, cause discomfort, prevent students back from expressing themselves, and how they don’t avoid schools from having cliques or groups like you may think. Appeal to action: To meet in the middle, I think schools should not have a uniform policy but instead enforce a stricter dress code. There are already plenty of restrictions upon students. The rules that are already in place are acceptable because they help maintain order on a daily basis. Authorizing school uniforms wouldn’t be a helpful regulation and in some cases, make things even more difficult, not only for the students but parents as
