If you recall my flash fiction from last week, I used the name Auden and there was a reason I put her name in my short story. After reading the Novel, along for the ride by Sarah Dessen, I fell in love with the character the author created. Auden displayed intelligence, drive, and strong work ethic. She focused solely on school and never letting anyone develop a close attachment with her. I believe Auden stood out to me because she reminded me a lot of myself throughout the novel and left a great impression. Instead of telling her true feelings she bottled them up for a long time. Finally letting out her true self out, she figured out how to enjoy life and to let people in instead of running away. She let herself fall in love and made new lasting friendships. Even strong female charters need help sometimes understanding new ideas. My favorite types of characters are those that are tough females, which was Auden. Overall, I found Auden’s character memorable and impressionable. Juliet, from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, has always been a character that has inspired me. Juliet the daughter of Capulet and Lady Capulet fell in love with Romeo from the Montague side, which was not appropriate since their families were great enemies. Juliet was around the age of 13 and natural beautiful. I like when authors describes characters as natural beautiful especially when the stories are written in days where natural beauty was not common. Before she met Romeo, Juliet had little to look forward to in life; she did not have dreams or goals. Most girls at her age thought about falling in love and marrying, while Juliet thought very little of these ideas
