By analyzing blood samples, it has been found that children with autism have immune abnormalities due to low levels of antibodies (immunoglobulin). Antibodies are made in the body in response to infections such as bacteria, viruses, fungus, or cancer cells. Antibodies attach themselves to these invasive substances enabling the body’s immune system to destroy them.
