This review will briefly explain what Autism Spectrum Disorder is, Symptoms, Treatment, Therapies, Medication, History. This review will also look at current studies. Characteristics of Autism generally experience three main areas of difficulty, Social Interaction, Social Communication, and Imagination. These features can range from mild to severe. Autism is a neurologically based disorder. Autism is a neurologically based disorder that affects a child ability to communicate, understand language, and play, and interact with others. Autism is presumed to be present from birth and always apparent before the age of three. According to, (McDougle CJ, ( 2003) “Most children with autism have tremendous difficulty engaging in everyday human interaction". Autism is a behavioral syndrome, which means that its definitions are base on behaviors that a child exhibits. Today research continues to grow the …show more content…

Since autism was identified as a syndrome more than decades ago, a variety of intervention strategies have been implemented. These interventions and treatment have risen from a range of theoretical positions; most have not proven to be effective with large numbers of children.
This pattern continues today, with a large number of diverse treatment approaches being touted as uniquely effective in resolving patterns of autistic behavior. Even though autism has attracted an array of spurious treatments, a good deal of real progress has occurred, and some very credible approaches have been demonstrated repeatedly to be effective in improving the behaviors and adaptability of children with autism.
The intervention that is derived from an educational and behavioral orientation has been shown to help children and adults affected by autism, primarily by teaching new skills that enable the person to function more successfully in the daily world of home, school, and
