Week Three Assignment In this week three assignment we will be discussing the Auto Zone Corporation. Auto Zone was founded in Nineteen Seventy Nine in Forrest City Arkansas. This paper will address the reason the company was founded, what the company sells, the places where Auto Zone does business, who are Auto Zone’s competitors, along with facts about the company’s logo and target market. Auto Zone is a dynamic company with huge growth over the decades it has been in business. Auto Zone recently passed Advance Auto Corporation to become the largest retailer of aftermarket auto parts in the United States (Bethel University, 2017). Auto Zone History J. R. Pitt Hyde III founded Auto Zone in Nineteen Seventy Nine after graduating from the University of North Carolina. Mr. Pitt received his degree in economics and soon afterward secured a job with Malone and Hyde, which was a wholesale food company that just happened to be founded by his grandfather. In recent years the dealerships have brought their prices down to become more competitive with the aftermarket manufactures. Also emerging is a brand new threat, online competitors. The one that strikes the most fear is Amazon Incorporated which has started to make its move into this lucrative market.
