The X-men stare at their new guest in shock. Was it possible that he was messing with them? If he distracted them enough, the others could attack from behind. "Say that again." Scott says finally.

Avalanche looks absolutely desperate. He says, "The government has invented a serum, they are calling it a cure for the mutant gene."

Rachel can feel a puzzled look cross her face. "That's impossible." She says. "You can't cure the Xgene, it's genetics not a disease."

"It still isn't clear, why do you need our help?" Emma asks.

Avalanche looks frustrated. Rachel could have been wrong, but she thought she felt the ground shake slightly as he says, "They took Mystique to experiment on. We were hoping that you, the X-men, …show more content…

"Thanks." She says. "That's like the best compliment."

Now that Rachel remembers her mom, she remembers why she wanted to change her name to Grey; her mom was the best person she had ever known. If she could be half as kind, and clever then her life would be pretty great.

"Anyway, you should be getting back to the Planning room." Scott says. "I'm going to go check on Emma."

And with that, he briskly turns the corner and out of sight. Rachel strides back to the planning room.

"That's not the point!" Someone yells. Rachel recognizes it to be Aunt Ororo. Ororo wasn't related to Rachel, but her parents and her go a long ways back; she gained the name 'Aunt Ororo' when Rachel was born.

Rachel runs the rest of the way to the Planning room. The only ones there was Franklin, Ororo and Avalanche.

"What's going on? I heard you all the way from hall B." Rachel says.

"Avalanche here wants to know why we are taking so long." Ororo says defiantly.

"I'm only saying that she may be dead by now." Avalanche says, crossing his arms in front of him.
