I am writing to express my concern regarding the visible amount of trash in our neighborhood. The surroundings of Dentonia Park and all the way to the Golf Club are filled with pieces of paper, cans, broken toys, packages and all the sort of unwanted objects on the grass, ruining the pleasant experience of walking in the park with the children. It is a duty of each citizen to preserve the city and it is not excusable to throw away garbage on the streets, however, a few measures could serve as friendly reminders of a person’s obligation. There is a lack of garbage bins in the park and on the sidewalks and this could be one of the reasons of why people are disrespecting the environment. If there is plenty of places to dispose the garbage properly,

Many students would be thrilled to hear that FDTC was planning on building a food court with a variety of different lunch options. Currently, the only option for food here at FDTC is a Subway. Although, this is a very nutritious and appetizing food choice, it is the only one that the school has. Myself and many of my fellow classmates have grown tired of eating Subway every day and have resorted to not eating while at school. Most colleges do not offer a designated lunch provided by the school because every student has different classes at different times of the day.

The term bullshit is used rather loosely and serves its purpose in making false pretenses with the added intention of manipulating an individual to believe in a specific case. Harry Frankfurt attested to that as he recognized bullshit to be a way of bending what is believed to be the truth. However, bullshit has been given various meanings and have been used in many different contexts that the term lacks any specificity. Because of the idea of bullshit, society communicates in a way where they convince themselves and others that some things are claimed to be true to attract the attention of their audience. People also use bullshit to justify their own case to avoid any further mishap from occurring.
There are many important issues facing education today for example Politics, Common Core, and Parental Involvement to mention a few. Politicians when running for a campaign promise more funding for education and better resources will be provided but yet to be determined. When there are funding issue the first place they take money from is the school system, as if there wasn’t a budget issue already. Politicians don’t seem to comprehend the Common Core system, but are making suggestions for change with no evidence that the change will in fact make a positive improvement in the Public school system. I believe that Educators should have a say in who is elected to be on the School Board and for the person being elected to have a previous background in education or have served as an educator for at least 10 years.
Education is defined in the Benokraitis’ Soc 3, Third Ed. textbook as, “A social institution that transmits attitudes, knowledge, beliefs, values, norms, and skills to its members through formal systematic training.” Yet despite the many essential benefits that education offers, “only 34% of Americans have a lot of confidence in our public schools.” The Common Core State Standards Initiative was announced on June 1, 2009 and was intended to offer a consistent and clear understanding of what students needed to learn in order for them to be successful in attaining either a 2 year or 4 year degree, and regardless of whether it’s at a University or a Community College, and thus placing students in a position where they can be competitive
