Babies are put into three categories; young infants, mobile infants, and toddlers. When working with the infants, understand what category each infant is that you are working with. I am an infant teacher and could not love my students more. Each day I ensure my classroom is ready for the students. By this I mean, my diapers are stocked and the floor only has the mats on it. All toys are picked up and put in place. I want the best for each child that comes through my door and strive for excellences in the classroom. If I would have been teaching my students back twenty years ago, I would have probably told the students no you cannot have something and left it at that, not understanding that I might be hurting the child ‘s feelings. Now I find other ways in saying no in which it does not upset the child. That is what I stride for; to let my students know they are safe, secure and loved as they come to class. …show more content…

There is a big window that lets a lot of light in and the students love it. They can look outside and see nature at its purest and watch as other classmates go by on their way to the playground. The students and I gather by the window daily to read books or race cars on the floor. The strengths of my classroom are also a weakness. It is small enough for the children to move quickly from one place to another but also not big enough to put in other toys that could enhance their learning. If I could change anything about my room, I would make it larger so the toddlers could have a table to sit at instead of a highchair, and extra shelves to put artwork and other things
