Obama
Introduction
Obama was the 44th president of the United States and was the first ever african american president. Obama first ran for president in 2008 against John McCain and won. After his four years he ran for president again against Mitt Romney and also won the election. In the eight years that Barack Obama was in office he did some very important and very impressive thing for our country. Some of his greatest accomplishments are signing an affordable Care Act that gave affordable health care to over 20 million uninsured americans and he also ended a war in Iraq. These are facts that show how good of a president he was.

After his parents divorce his mother married another foreign student that attended the University of Hawaii. From the age six through ten, Barack Obama lived with his mother and stepfather in Indonesia. But education was poor in Indonesia, so his mother being concerned for Obama's education she sent him back to Hawaii to live with his grandparents where he attended hawaii's Prestigious Punahou School from fifth grade until graduation. After graduation he enrolled at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. He stayed in LA for two years, then moving to New York to finish his last two years of college at Columbia University. In college he studied for government and law. During his sophomore year he met David Axelrod, David was known for helping black candidates succeed in schools with a majority of white students. He announced his news in front of the Old State House in Springfield illinois, where Abraham Lincoln gave his “House Divided” speech in 1858. This showed that Obama knew the history of the United States and that he cared. Obama's running mate John McCain had his announcement April 25th,2007 at Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This location had no important meaning, but Obamas did. Obama used the internet as a good way to spread news and show off his ideas and slogans. Obama started “Obama For America”(OFA) and what this online site did was inform americans about news and what Obama had in mind for slogans and he got the american peoples opinion of his work. The idea of having the american peoples opinions is that he could work off of their ideas and make the people happy with his ideas and work. His running mate John didn't get involved enough with the american people so that was something Obama did better and it worked out for him in the long run. Obama did the same thing on his second election against Mitt Romney. He got involved with the country and that helped him get the votes and win his second term. Obama's methods on both elections were getting involved with the american people and getting their thoughts in on his work and basing his thoughts on the american people and what they
