Barack Hussein Obama II was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in August 4, 1961. In 1983, he graduated from Columbia University in New York City. In 1988, he enrolled in Harvard Law School and became the first black president of the Harvard Law Review. After graduation, he became a civil rights attorney and professor. He also taught constitutional law at the University Of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. Obama represented the 13th District for three terms in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004, when he ran for the U.S. Senate. From 2005 to 2008, he served as the junior Senator for the State of Illinois.

Obama was an advocated for gun control after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. He also issued executive actions that helped the environment and immigrates. Barack Obama’s character traits can be described as brave, caring and intelligent. He is brave because he ended the war in Iraq, and began the removal of American troops from Afghanistan.
