In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Miss Caroline is treated poorly because some of her students think she is picking on a kid that comes from a poor family. It is the first day of first grade for Scout and Miss Caroline is her teacher. Miss Caroline's students do not realize that she is not trying to pick on a student named Walter when she tries to be nice by paying for his lunch but does not know that he would have to pay the money back. “You’re shamin’ him, Miss Caroline. Walter hasn’t got a quarter at home to bring you”.(Lee 28)
These examples don’t, however, range throughout the book very far. Two of them are on opposite pages and the remaining example is only a little farther away. Despite being in the same portion of the book these examples vary in meaning and had a large influence on my reading experience.
Upon choosing my fourth song, I thought of the portion of the novel where Janie begins to grow doubt following her current friendship with Tea Cake. The main reasons for this sprouting emotion include the age gap between them and her unwillingness to pursue a relationship with him for fear of him messing with her feelings. Over the course of the next few days in the story, Tea Cake reassures Janie of his pure intentions even though she remains skeptical. In order to express his affection towards her, Tea Cake invites Janie to a picnic at the end of the chapter where she continues to question him by saying he could bring any woman he wants and states he does not have to bring her along just to show kindness. The book “The catcher in the rye “ by J.D Salinger shows a teenagers journey through horrible days of misfortune. The main character, Holden, have interesting ways of dealing with his problems. It is anything from loneliness to his way of alienating for self protection. Lynda Mullay Hunt has expressed, “You can feel lonely when you are alone, but the worst kind of loneliness is when you’re in a room full of people, but you’re still alone. Or you feel like you are, anyway”. When a person is in a populace with contradictory thoughts, morals, and beliefs, they will feel isolated and insubstantial. As Guy Montag, the protagonist of Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, realizes early on in the story, he feels unhappy and alone, despite being around colleagues and acquaintances. As the plot progresses, Montag undergoes significant character development and sees exactly how different his nature is from those he surrounds himself with.

What did John mean when he said “If one’s different, one’s bound to be lonely” in the story Brave New World? What I think John meant was that when people are different from others, they might feel excluded because they don't typically fit in with those certain types of people because they can have certain types of differences they like and don't like or they can have different liking's which can cause them to feel lonely and feel like they don't have a social life and making it hard for them to express their feelings and their actions towards other people. But it can also be good for the person that is feeling lonely because they can experience life by doing things by themselves and not counting on others to do those things for them. Why did John the Savage say that? He said that because he was also experiencing loneliness and feeling
While Crooks, a victim of racial prejudice, expresses his isolation openly, he also socializes with other workers on the job and while playing horseshoes with them. Curley’s wife, on the other hand, cannot talk to anyone without suffering the consequences of a jealous husband: “ I get so lonely,’ she said. “you can talk to people , but I can’t talk to nobody but Curley. Else he gets mad. How’d you like not to talk to anybody?”
