Johann Sebastian Bach made Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 almost 300 years ago. He wrote the piece during the Baroque period. The Baroque period covered over 150 years. It The Baroque period was influenced greatly by the Renaissance.This lead to more musicians making their own styles of music.The Freiburger Barock Hester Orchestra performed Concerto No. 2, but they added their own style. The Freiburger Barock Hester Orchestra's motto is “ to enliven the world of Baroque music with new sounds". The purpose of this Orchestra is to show how important and inspiration the Baroque period music was. The performance makes me think of a wedding reception because the venue looks like a church with its high ceiling, and chandeliers. The performers keeps the audience’s attention by their movement and the fast tempo of the music. Im sure that the Orchestra did not take in mind that the all of the glass from the venue would provide such an immersive experience. My favorite part of the performance is when the orchestra changed from a fast tempo to a slower tempo, then back to a fast tempo. I started to get unfocused on the music as the faster tempo continued to play, but when the orchestra switched the tempo I was interested again. The performance features three movements just like the the Original piece by Johann Sebastian Bach. Allegro, Andante, and Allegro assai are the three movements. Adante is my favorite because it gives balance the entire performance. It gives the audience a break from the faster tempo music. The performers mainly wore black formal outfits, and most of them had short hair.There were a similar amount of men and women, but the women seemed to be more energetic and engaged. The music was also entertaining because the music tended to isolate certain instruments and let them have sections of the music where they were emphasized.
