The book of the circuit by Francisco Jimenez shows Francisco and his family moves from Mexico to California with their American dreams --- they will live a great, wealthy life. However, in fact, they have many difficulties and challenges. At the end of the story, all of Francisco’s family member learned the importance of giving mutual support and standing for each other. They know that others will always be there when the times are tough. The author’s message about family is that life may not always go the way one wants, but family are the people who provide one with unconditional love and support.

Although there is not money for some expensive gifts, they also have a blessed Christmas. When Papa gives Mama a sweet gift for Christmas, it just another sign of how extremely supportive this couple is. Even without money, Papa still wants his wife to be happy on this important day. “Her eyes were full of tears. Papa, who was sitting next to her on the mattress, lifted its corner and pulled out from underneath the white embroidered handkerchief. He tenderly handed it to Mama, saying, ‘Feliz Navidad, vieja’.” ( Page 56 ) This quote reveals that Francisco’s parents have a super strong, stable relationship and though they go through plenty of wear and tear together, no matter what they stick by each other. They love one another deeply, for this reason, they support each other and never give up the hope of life.
