I'm glad you mentioned the Five Pillars Of Islam. These were the a basic righteous code they had to follow. In addition to these codes, the Islamic civilization also had a set of prescriptions that regulated their daily lives. These were drawn in a law code called the Shari 'a. These codes made their behavior and daily lives extremely strict. If Muslims, followed these beliefs and codes they were certain a place in an eternal paradise.
