Basketball Game Analysis

For as long as I can remember I have always loved the game of basketball. I was always constantly driving my family crazy with the sound of dribbling a basketball. Every morning on the weekends my Dad and I would go and shoot at the YMCA. I have been playing basketball for eleven years and I first stepped onto the court when I was in first grade playing for Upward Basketball, a recreation league for elementary kids. I had played for many club teams the following years with lots of highlights and hardships. Basketball can just be a hobby for some, but for me it's a lifestyle. The first basketball game ever played was on December 21, 1891 at a YMCA training school in Springfield, Massachusetts (Basketballforcoaches). The ending score was 1-0 with William R. Chase scoring the first basket in the history of basketball (Basketballforcoaches). The game of basketball has been excelling over the last hundred years and it has shown no signs of slowing down. When I was in first grade, my dad had signed me up for Upward Basketball, a recreational league for elementary kids looking to start playing basketball. I went to try out and made the team and played with Upward for about a year. My coach decided that I needed something more challenging like going to play for a club basketball team that travels to tournaments in other states and will help athletes get exposure to receive college scholarships. I have had many different types of coaches throughout my eleven years of playing basketball. Some would scream their heads off at you whenever you did something wrong and others would give positive reinforcement no matter if you made a mistake or not. I had three different coaches while I was playing at Hoop Dreams. My first coach at Hoop Dreams was a yeller but she was also very positive in helping you become a better player. My second coach, Stephanie, I had during fifth and sixth grade and she would scream at everyone and you better do what she said, or you would be running all practice. One practice, one of my teammates gave her attitude and talked back so my coach threw the ball at her. The parents after sixth grade year wanted her fired because she was so mean to all her players, so she left. My seventh grade to sophomore year, I had a new coach, Paul. He gets the credit for making me the player I am today. He would help me change my shot and give me positive feedback, but would also be tough when needed. For over three years I was coming in early mornings and late nights to practice my shooting form with him. All those practices have finally paid off and the form of my shot is more consistent than ever. Even when I left Hoop Dreams he would still come to the gym and help me shoot. My third coach is Stu from Idaho Flash. Stu is the most positive coach I
