In a casual manner, a high school freshman strolled off the brick path into the damp turf directly towards a basketball court located on the other side of the field. Slowly, he passed a brash orange basketball from hand to hand, as he waded gingerly through the wet grass, not eager to get grime on his navy blue shoes. The autumn breeze swept the aroma of petrichor, along with the maroon and gold maple leaves dancing around him, until they pirouetted into the park’s muddy grass. In the distance a glowing ball of yellow light hung, rising slowly from the horizon.
As Alvin approached the court he sported a cloak of enthusiasm. He planned on having some basketball practice for fun, hopefully improving his abilities greatly before the basketball season begins. Alvin ascended up the brief flight of concrete stairs to the elevated court; he began to linger around the sidelines, while his eyes scanned for a vacant basketball hoop to practice with. After wiping away the water with a cloth he sat on the edge of his bed, patiently waiting for the pain to subside. His patience wore thin after a while and the pain lingered. Concerned, he inquired of people and searched the web for probable effects from that injury, and out of sheer worry went to the hospital.
