MOVIE THEATHER MASSACRE! Headlines in bold print took over the local and major news networks. On July 20 2012, the horrific event known as the Aurora Colorado shooting took place. 25-year old James Holmes, clad in black ballistic body armor that covered his entire body, entered century movie theater and unleashed several smoke and gas canisters. He then opened fire on the crowd. Holmes had a plan to execute as many murders as possible. Holmes prepared three months in advance for the attack and chose the midnight featuring of the movie Batman Dark Night Rise because there would be less children at the later showing. Holmes chose the theater because of its layout, since the doors could be locked and he could kill as many people as possible. Holmes did not intend to stop his murder spree at the movie theater since he told law enforcement about the booby traps he had set up in his apartment.
