While they both entertain millions every day with their heroics, they still have many similarities and differences. While Iron Man and Batman are totally different characters, they also have many similarities. Both Tony Stark (Ironman) and Bruce Wayne (Batman) are billionaires who use their wealth to fund their crime-fighting activities. For example, they spend lots of money on gadgets and suits. Both characters are very intelligent and skilled inventors, creating advanced gadgets and suits to aid them in their missions. For example, Ironman has a suit that can shoot energy blasts and fly. Ironman's powers such as the unibeam, which is a large blast from his chest. Also, he can make his suit go onto him without physically putting it on. These powers stem from his technological inventions and the arc reactor implanted in his chest to keep him alive. Batman relies on his physical prowess, detective skills, and martial arts training. Tony Stark becomes an Ironman after a near-death experience in Afghanistan, realizing the need to use his technology for good. Bruce Wayne becomes Batman after witnessing his parents' murder, driven by a desire to rid Gotham City of crime. Ironman's alter ego, Tony Stark, is publicly known, while Batman maintains a secret identity to protect his loved ones and maintain an air of mystery.
