Giving a overview, Bazaarvoice acquired PowerReviews in June 2012, in a $160 million transaction. Both of these companies are known within the ratings and reviews platform services, which is a platform that provides software and services to companies, particularly to manufacturers and retailers engaged in ecommerce, to help them collect and organize ratings and reviews about their product. The PRR platform then transfigures that information to display it on the companies’ websites, informing future purchasers about the products. These platforms are desirable for companies as they help increase sales, decrease product returns and search engine optimization. TR at 97.
