William James Mayo once said “The glory of medicine is that it is constantly moving forward, there is always more to learn. One of the positions a lot of people look into is Nurse Practitioner. When becoming a Nurse Practitioner, there are several benefits. Becoming a Nurse Practitioner involves up to 6-7 years of secondary education after high school, a job filled with several duties, and a modest salary.
The first topic to focus on is the education it requires to become a Nurse Practitioner. A (NP) requires completion of high school to earn a diploma along with a background of science courses. Completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree of Nursing is then needed after high school. An exam must be passed in order to become a registered nurse. After becoming a (RN), additional nurse practitioner training will take place. (NP) programs offer a master’s degree or a doctorate and take 1-3 years to complete.
