When the question “what do you want to be when you grow up?” was asked of me my answer was always nurse. I wanted to be a nurse because that way I can help people like my grandma. I was so sure that I wanted to be a nurse so much that whenever I would go to the hospital I was inquiring on what the nurses were doing. At the age of 12, I thought a nurse would be the perfect job for me nevertheless I contradicted myself because I didn't like needles and blood (some the main things nurses deal with). By cause of an unfortunate event I figured out what career I want to purse.

Becoming a surgeon is important to me because I can improve the quality of life for others who have been physically hurt or have developed a medical condition. Just imagining the feeling of helping someone be able to live a normal or better life makes me ecstatic. For example, say someone was in a bad car accident. The person in the accident has an open compound fracture.
My dream has always been to grow up and have a career where I am able to help those in need and those who are hurting. For most of my life, I have wanted to be a nurse until I started to do some research and realized that being a social worker is what I want to do. The thought of helping those in need not just medically but in other aspects allows me to feel like I have a purpose to my life. After realizing that nursing was not my dream job, I made an appointment with my advisor in order to get more information on social work and because of this decision I am where I am today.
