Based on the YA novel by Jesse Andrews, this quirky tragedy follows gawky high school senior Greg Gaines (Thomas Mann) who spends most of his time making terrible parodies of classic movies with his co-worker Earl (RJ Cyler). Greg narrates the story with irritating self-awareness, and makes a point to show us around the halls of his high school while breaking down the various social groups: jocks/geeks/popular kids etc. Sound familiar? It should. Greg continuously reminds us that despite these social sub-genres, he does not want to commit to a label and wishes to remain invisible, which he achieves by being pleasant to everyone and suppressing his real feelings.

Finny was the top athlete at the school; even broke the swimming record without any preperation. However, his grades were barely passing, which was something he envied of Gene. Jack is cautious to the idea at first, but eventually does become Auggie's friend; he appears to ruin this friendship though, by insulting Auggie when he thinks that Auggie is not around to hear. Augusts wanted to go to a regular school after being home schooled for a while and he met his teachers but he was really nervous. After getting all of his classes, the teachers sat him next to a kid named Jack in every class, Mrs.Petosa had Jack show August around the school and immediately they became friends. Jack and August were walking around school and then a kid accidentally bumped into August and the boy said ‘Whoa”!. Jack and August were making fun of the way the kid looked after he saw August and a little later, Jack started making fun of Jack by saying “I 'd want to. I think you should get a secret squirt gun or something and attach it to your eyes somehow.
Auggie knew that would happen. When it was time for lunch, Auggie was very shocked because a girl named Summer sat with him at lunch. Auggie and Summer ended up becoming friends. Auggie and Jack became friends as well. Auggie has noticed that no one dares touch him or have any contact with him.
Finally Julian is a bully to other kids. Julian is not a good role model that kids would look up to. For example, Julian puts mean notes in Jack and Auggie’s locker. For example to Auggie, he wrote “you are a freak why did you come to this school in the first place?” and another reason why Julian is sneaky is he started the “boy war”. Finally, Julian started the game called “the plague”

As Auggie walked in the school, people were walking away and avoiding being near him.
But he did have a minor change, he began to expose a little of his warm-heartedness, after Johnny and Dally died, he didn’t appear much anymore in the story line, but the readers can picture him maturing every passing day but still kept his generous humor. Back then when I was little, Aaron, as an adolescent, always acted with a professional manner, while his parents continuously bragged about his academic achievements. I always thought that it made sense for someone like him to be well rounded at such a young age, since I knew how over the top his parents can be about school. They were those types of parents with the “because I said so” attitude, enforcing their rules through yelling and physical punishment. You could imagine everybody’s surprise when we found out that he ended up piercing his ears and later on getting a tattoo without his parent’s permission. The once courteous young man became involved in many different rebellious activities until one day later on he ran out of money to continue to live in his apartment.
