In both passages “Watsons Go To Birmingham” and “Making Sarah Cry” have a common theme of Kindness. Although both passages share the same theme they have a different mood. In the story “Watsons Go To Birmingham” the mood is sad. In the story “Making Sarah Cry” the mood is also sad but it is also happy.
Could you imagine living in a world where you were in constant fear of being bombed, your brother was killed in battle and your best friend was taken away? It may seem harsh, but that’s exactly what happened in Carolyn Reeder’s historical fiction book, Foster’s War. In this book Foster’s brother, Mel, was killed in battle and Foster’s best friend, a Japanese, was taken to a concentration camp. On top of all that, Foster and the town he lives in, is in constant fear of being bombed, due to the fact that there are many aircraft manufacturers nearby. I believe that love can be broken, but not forgotten, because people can lose their loved ones or their relationship with them, but still remember the love that they once shared.

Steve, you entered an unthinkable, unimaginable situation, a sequence containing mental and emotional carousels. This evidential trial threw your young self into an overwhelming state, where people who did not know the slightest thing about you wanted you in jail for your entire life--the prosecutor, Sandra Petrocelli, and many citizens who accused YOU of killing Mr.Nesbitt. Your trial highlights the significance of association, how one can be caught up in gang violence, persuasion, on any occasion. They wanted 25 years to life from you, they wanted to deprive you of your late youth, and take away your whole adulthood.
This quote from The Giver is an amazing way to show you this. “I feel sorry for anyone who is in a place where he feels strange and stupid” Noyce. What this quote explains is that the protagonist feels horrible for all the people who don't fit in. Now teens can relate to this very well because even being pushed to be the same most teens feel different than everyone else, this is not always a bad thing either, but when they feel “strange and stupid” as the book says it’s not very great. This is an extremely great way to show you why teens find this genre interesting, but that's not all of the reasons
John Madden was born on April 10th, 1936 in Austin, Minnesota to Earl Russell Madden and Mary Margaret Flaherty. While living in Austin his father worked as a mechanic. He later moved to Daly City, California with his family in 1942 after living in Minnesota for about six years. In California his dad worked on airplanes as a mechanic. John Madden went to High School at Jefferson High School in Daly City, California and was a three sport star in baseball, basketball, and football.
In 1987 an African-American male, Timothy Foster, was convicted of murdering a Caucasian female in Georgia and was sentenced to death (Vogue 2016). The prisoner’s appeal process worked its way up to the United States Supreme Court, arguing that he was convicted because of racial prejudice (Vogue 2016). Notes obtained from the prosecutors of the case revealed that they did not select certain jurors because they were black and that the jury was all white (Vogue 2016). The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Timothy, which was in accordance with the already established anti-discrimination precedents set by the 14th amendment and the 1986 Supreme Court decision in Batson v. Kentucky (Vogue 2016). This case is important for several reasons.
In the ted talk by Adam foss, about the prosecutor’s vision for a better justice system; the theme of the talk is about when people commit crime in the this country, that the US justice system has a prosecutor that charge people for their action they committed as being explain in the chapter (7.16) of the text book. The action the government takes to punish people with their criminal record which the government has been doing for a long now till today. The author Foss believe that reforming justice system will help to replace wrath with the chances that will change people’s lives for better than destroying them with criminal record. They insist that things are worse behind the scenes (Schumann). A show that is popular for young people and their babies is a great example for reality shows revolving around children. Teen Mom is a show all about young girls getting pregnant as teenagers. Many of the girls are between the ages of 16 and 18, so they are still children themselves. This show involves a ton of drama, not only because it involves screaming and crying babies, but also because the fathers are rarely there.
The media influences range from television shows from celebrities. Television shows like Modern Family are shows that are my favorite. Although they come out on the channel network Fox, and Fox is conservative they still show the show where they have an a same-sex couple who has a child. When Modern Family first showed their episode when the same-sex couple was getting ready to adopted a child, I agreed that they have a right to be able to adopt a child. There are issues on whether same-sex couples should adopt children because if same-sex couples adopt children there is one gender missing and people believe that the child will grow up the same as the parents.
The viewers related to the show and gave the network their full and undivided attention. Ultimately, the teens adopted the attitudes and behaviors they were exposed to. Personally, I have been a part of such loop when I was an adolescent. I followed trends such as clothing, shoe ware, soft drinks, cellular phones, TV shows and more.
I fled my stifling home town for Melbrooke City, pursuing a hazy dream of making something of myself. A year later, I’m same old Jenna, working a dead-end job at a diner. Despite it all, I have hope good things are on the horizon for me. Until I’m arrested for a crime I didn’t commit. The poem “One Boy Told Me” by Naomi Shihab Nye, was told by her son when he was two and three years of age. His comments, thoughts, and remarks were jotted down verbatim by Naomi and pieced together to create the one of a kind free verse poem. Nye assembled the phrases into individual stanza’s where they coherently flow to one another to illustrate the mind of a toddler. Wide ranges of emotions and personalities invoke the inner child and their curiosity. Overall, her son’s interpretations of his surroundings and understandings are represented in how the idioms expressed set the stage for intrusiveness, humor, and poetic devices to contribute to the overall meaning.
