Elizabeth Keckely supports and develops her position on slavery by sharing her personal experiences on the cruelty, her position on Mrs. Lincoln is by defending, speaking highly and lowly about her throughout her memoir, Behind the Scenes. Elizabeth Keckley hates slavery and feels it’s a curse, but she doesn’t blame the slave owners.
