Have you ever wondered how life would be if you grew up in an aboriginal community in Canada. Me being an aboriginal child can explain to you the values of life and the struggles we face. Most people think that we are poor and old fashioned, for a fact that's true; but we still have many ups and downs that I'd like to share with you.
Being an aboriginal child means that our families have a great way of living. We all stay in groups and share our resources. Me and my siblings have many chores, on the other hand our parents go to work. Not to mention, the main thing that people like me have to remember is our culture. You may be things that we hunt for food, for a fact that's true but not today. We buy meat just like you sometimes even have our backyard farm. We also grow our own crops if we don't have that much space we buy them from farms around our areas. My favorite food is pemmican cakes, they're made from beef jerky, dried berries, nuts, vegetable shortening, and honey. We Aboriginals always have stews or teas simmering and available to serve to guests. Our food is fresh and made to the touch. We also don't have much fast food places around which makes us healthy eaters. Compared with your food, I have to say ill stick with my plate.
Canada is one of the best countries in the world in which to get an education, but it is failing its aboriginal students. You see, our education is as important as yours are, but we are all struggling to get it. Through the years we are improving but it's just not fair. People are not stepping up to this problem. A lot of children are dropping out and only 68 percent of us aboriginals have a chance of getting a high school diploma. Therefore, you guys are lucky and we are not so make the most of
