Autism or Autistic Spectrum Disorders, is a well known disease with many distinct causes. According to the article, "Autism can Be an 'Advantage' Researchers say", autistic people tends to "...dismiss as an artifact of impaired communication." Many people argue the fact whether autism is a disability or an advantage. The book the curious incident of the dog in the night-time, by mark haddon, also expresses this argument. I strongly believe autism is a disability because, autistics tends to lack communication and social skills, that are essential to survival. Many autistics have difficulties in communication to other people. The article, "Autism can Be an 'Advantage' Researchers Say", validates that, ' " One out of 10 autistics cannot speak...." In the article, "What is Autism? ", it expresses that, "The speech of a person with ASD may sound much more formal and woody, compared to other people's speech." This is true, because in the book, the curious incident of the dog in the night-time, Christopher manifested the same idea. When Christopher got questioned by the police about the death of the dog, Wellington, he stayed calm, and only answered what was asked. He didn't immediately explain to the police entirely, of what had happened, like what most people would do. For example in the book when the police officer asked , ' "And what, precisely, were you doing in the garden?" ' Christopher just gave a the answer, ' "I was holding the dog." ' Normally, people would answer the police officer, the whole process of how they ended up in the garden. However, Christopher just answered very shortly.
