Early childhood education, I agree enhances school readiness and reduces racial and ethnic achievement gaps. The Headstart program where I am employed is a high quality program because it is effective to the child, the family, and the community. The Headstart program allows the child to prepare socially, emotionally, physically, as well as mentally for school. The child’s cognitive skills increase which interaction with other children. This program is free of cost and is available for families of low income economic status. The program also has a curriculum that provides an educational value that prepares the young children for kindergarten in the public school. The teachers and teacher assistants are highly qualified with either an early childhood bachelor degree or a two years’ associate degree.
