At a young age, Franklin was a determined. He would become his brother’s apprentice in his printing press company. This would inspire him to establish his own printing press which would be well known throughout all the colonies. He was then given the rank of postmaster, which made him the head of all the post offices in the colonies. He was very interested in pursuing science and enjoyed inventing; this curiosity of science would lead him to be the first to discover electricity.
Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17th 1706 in Boston Massachusetts. At an early age Benjamin learned to read and could be considered and major accomplishment. At age 10 he quit school so he could start working full time at his father’s candle and soap shop. Dipping wax and cutting wicks didn’t suit his needs. At age 12 his father apprenticed him to his brother James at a print shop.
After moving to London, Franklin was a well known man. He had helped set up a postal service, and public library. Franklin tried to make London a royal colony, but he understood that Britain and the colonies would never be united as a whole again. In 1775 after the first shots at Lexington and Concord were fired the Second Continental Congress had come together for the first time. One of the delegates was Benjamin Franklin.

His scientific pursuit included electricity, mathematics, and mapmaking. Published Poor Richard’s Almanac invented bifocal glasses and organized the first successful American lending library. Benjamin Franklin was not only an inventor and entrepreneur, he was also a hero of the Revolutionary War. Benjamin was a very intelligent man who was not scared to state his opinion. He was born for greatness and France could not have had anyone better than Benjamin himself to lead everyone to victory. Think about it, the war would have been nothing if he did not pull the strings he did for the U.S. Ben Franklin contributed to the Revolutionary War by becoming popular in France, a member of the continental congress, and also persuaded France to aid the U.S. Without Benjamin becoming popular, he would have never been able to impact the war in the way he did. He lived in France for 10 years which gave time for his popularity to grow all throughout the country.
Benjamin Franklin moved from Boston to Philadelphia. After moving to London in 1724, Franklin returned to Philadelphia in 1726 to find that Deborah had married in the interim, only to be abandoned by her husband just months after the wedding. Around that time, Franklin fathered a son, William, out of wedlock who was taken in by the couple. The pair’s first son, Francis, was born in 1732, but he died four years later of smallpox.
I decided to pick Ben Franklin as the most important founding father of the United States for several reasons. The first reason is that he made delivering mail easier and quicker. The next reason is the ambassador of France. Also I picked Ben Franklin because he discovered electricity. Ben Franklin was born in a small house on Milk Street in Boston, Massachusetts.

Franklin was known for creating many things that we still use today, and we will continue uses for many years to come. Inventions that we still use today would be the lightning rod, street lighting, odometer, Bifocal glasses, and the discovery of Daylight Saving Time. Franklin invented the lightning rod to protect the building from lightning; Franklin believed this was the most important inventions. With street lighting, he only improved it by using the scientific method to help improve the quality of light. As he describe it in his Autobiography, "I, therefore, suggested composing them of four flat panes, with a long funnel above to draw up the smoke, and crevices admitting air below, to facilitate the ascent of the smoke; by this means they were kept clean, and did not grow dark in a few hours, as the London lamps do, but continu'd bright till morning."
The importance of Ben Franklin has been told all throughout history, along with the famous $100 bill with his face on it. Drafting the Declaration of Independence, foudning universities and libraries, the post office, shaping policies in the U.S., publishing newspapers, making advances in science, and letting us use bifocals and using lighting for electricity. Jonathan Edward and Benjamin Franklin were two of those writers, who were the most important and intellectual men, who left behind many admirable works for the future society. In spite of them being so intelligent, they have some different and similar views in terms of morality, personal responsibility, human nature, and limits of human knowledge and inform people how to live a better life. In addition, they were different in terms of religious inclinations. Benjamin Franklin and Jonathan Edward were both philosopher and had similar views in terms of informing people the right way to live in order to be successful and get salvation by reforming their mind in their life.
In his Autobiography, Benjamin Franklin stated, “So convenient a thing it is to be a reasonable creature, since it enables one to find or make a reason for everything one has a mind to do.” By this, Franklin meant that reasoning enables people to justify all of their actions. Justification, in this case, is rationalization. In his Autobiography, Franklin writes about his being a vegetarian, due to the reason that killing animals, fish in this instance, was unprovoked murder and therefore he would not eat them. However, when he smelt fish cooking, he remembered how he used to love fish, and he had a desire to eat it after he had smelt it.
