The political debate of 2016 will be the most intense debate with hot topics such as: womens’ and Lesbian-Gay-Bi-Trans-Queer-Ect. (LGBTQ+) rights, minimum wage, and the removal of poverty. Political candidates from both the Republican and Democratic sides need to understand that the current state of the U.S. is in need of a significant reform. Out of all the candidates presented in the 2016 Presidential Election, Bernie Sanders’ stance on many political issues seem to resonate most with the current generation. Sanders believes that having a well educated, diligent population will assist with bringing us into a lead in the global economy. He asserts that there are several steps we need to take to reach this goal. The first is to eliminate tuition at all public universities in the country. This is done by many other countries, especially those in Europe, and there were colleges in the early 1900s in the United States that also had cheap or free tuition for students. It’s been stated that education can lead to a better future and with free or affordable collage, that can be possible. Bernie Sanders understands that women have been fighting for their rights since the 1920’s. There is no reason to defund Planned Parenthood. There is no reason to discredit women for saying they have been sexually abused and assaulted. There is absolutely no reason for women in 2015 to be fighting for rights they should of had hundred of years ago. Bernie Sanders, if taken into office, will fight to have women and minorities gain equal pay for the same job a white man does. He also plans to expand and protect the reproductive rights of women without conflict of religion or pro-life advocates.
