Trump and Sanders are Good for America There appear to be two broad categories of politicians in the United States and, thankfully, one of these is actually good for the health of the country. Nevertheless, Americans hate them both. Most politicians are detested because, when they open their mouths, words are emitted but nothing is communicated. Those who do this (there are many) represent the first category: boring and vapid. The other category are the more rare aspirants who actually commit the heinous act of what we in the media refer to as "communicating." And, yes, these politicians are hated also. He was, as is popular today, just saying. One big reason a growing number of voters cannot distinguish between Republicans and Democrats is that the vast majority fight their fights under the banal rules of political war of suck up to the average, don't take risks, don't utter a word about anything that hasn't been highly researched and, above all, act like you are actually sincere. The other category of political campaigners are represented today by Bernie Sanders on one end and Donald Trump on the other. These gentleman are going for it. They speak not to the pols and journalists keeping score of all the gotchas and "whoops" but to actual people. Saying real stuff, like it or not. Their passion is palpable and passion is good. It tells us they are human beings, not corporate shills. Which of these two type of politicians are more courageous? Is courage even a trait Americans want in their President? I hope so. While the boring politicians do all they can to stun their constituents with verbal sleights-of-hand, the rare contrarians actually talk about things they truly believe are worth talking about. Again, not liking their issues isn't as important as the fact that they are putting them out
